"BREAKFAST SKIN"
This beat was inspired by sunrise, with the ambience setting the mood for the rest of the track, akin to the sun rising at the start of day. It might not be a traditional breakfast as we think of it, but is perhaps more indicative of those special breakfasts where you find yourself dancing in the kitchen at 9am. Its mood is consistent and non changing, almost like how we are after we wake up, carrying ourselves around in an energy-less state, waiting for a caffeine fix to start the day.

このビートは、朝陽から着想をえました。
一日の始まりに昇る太陽のように、トラックの余白に、アンビエントのムードを残しました。私たちが考えるような、それは伝統的な朝食ではないかもしれませんが、午前9時にキッチンで踊っているような、特別な朝食を表しています。

"MORNING SKIN"
Set at the very start of day, probably before anybody has woken up, this is a piece about the world at it’s stillest. It is a very slow, calm track, that is akin to how the world behaves at 5am, using field recordings of nature to symbolise the start of day, which I manipulated to create an ongoing ambience throughout. It is an extremely lazy beat, with elements falling in and out of time, reflective of a very slow, out of control walk, which is perhaps how we would move if we were to get out of bed at this time (which is not advisable).

おそらくまだ誰も起きていない一日の始まりの、世界が最も静かな時をイメージしたものです。これは、とてもスローで静かな、朝5時に世界がどう振る舞うかを連想させるトラックです。1日の始まりを象徴する自然のフィールドレコーディングを使用し、全体を通して一貫した雰囲気を作り出すよう作曲しました。これは、とてもレイジーなビートで、不規則な音の要素が、寝ぼけなまこでコントロール不可能な足取りを表しています。まるでもし、私たちがこの時間にベッドから出ないといけない時にどうなるかのように。

"FAMILY SKIN"
Although this is a very beat driven piece, it is carried by a sentimental melody that is symbolic of our emotional underpinnings as humans. The beat can be seen as the never-ending, unchanging pulse of life, that remains in all our lives, and can often distract us from our true selves. But listen closely, and underneath you will hear a harmonious sensitivity that really holds and gives the music foundation, similar to how our familial environment growing up provides us with strength and security throughout our lives. All our feeling and emotion can be traced back to our early childhood experiences, it is the basis of how we understand emotion, and this piece is evocative of that.

この曲は、ビートが主軸となり、私たち人間の感情基盤を象徴するセンチメンタルなメロディーによって進行されます。そのビートは、しばしば本当の自分自身でいることから気を紛らわし、私たち全員に課された、絶えず変わりのない人生の脈動のように流れています。しかし、よく耳を傾けると、敏感で調和のとれた音のがベースが流れています。それは、育った家庭が私たちの人生に、力と安らぎを与えてくれているのと似ています。私たちのすべての感覚と感情は、幼児期の経験にまでさかのぼることができ、それが私たちの感情を理解する方法のベースであり、この作品はそれを想い起させるようなものとなっています。

"INSIDE SKIN"
This beat was inspired by the insanity we can often feel from spending too much time indoors. Something that is very apparent at the moment, and that has been emphasised by the current pandemic. It is a meditation on cabin fever, with extreme sound design elements representing our unsound, and perhaps deranged minds, as we spend too much time indoors, unconsoled by human connection. I envisage that in the extremity of this state we forge relationships with our inanimate surroundings as oppose to our fellow human beings, creating otherworldly experiences.

このビートは、私たちが室内で過ごした長すぎる時間をもとに生まれる、狂気にインスパイアされています。それは、現在このパンデミックの状況によって強調されている、非常に明白な何かです。
閉所から作れるストレスに対する熟考や、極端な音の要素が、私たちの脆弱なさま、そして、人との関わりによる刺激のない長い時間を過ごしたことによる、錯乱した心境を表しています。この極限の状況で私たちは仲間との人間的な関係を阻止され、生命のない空間との関係を築いていて、現実離れした経験をしていることを私は思い描きました。

"CAFE SKIN"
A beat reminiscent of the hustle and bustle of being in a cafe. Its’ ambience is energetic, playful, and busy, reflective of the dynamic, ever changing and kinetic environment of a cafe. I envisage this cafe to be fairly social, open, and a place where people talk to other; alcohol is probably served behind the desk, and dancing is encouraged. The kind of place you would perhaps take your mum on a Friday evening.

カフェにいるときの喧騒を彷彿とさせるビート。その雰囲気は、エネルギッシュで、遊び心があり、忙しく、カフェのダイナミックで変化し続ける動的な環境を映しています。このカフェは、とても社交的でオープン、人々の新たな出会いが起きる場所です。お酒を楽しみ、ダンスも行われるようなこのカフェは、もしかすると金曜日の夜に、ママを連れて行くような場所でもあるかもしれません。

"NATURE SKIN"
This track depicts nature as something very playful, and enticing, and is indicative of how somebody might interact with their surroundings when under the influence of psychedelics. It sees trees, grass, birds, water and the wind as very alive and expressive, finding life, beauty and soul in the raw elements of nature. It starts slow, before starting to find fun in the natural environment, eventually dancing, singing and grooving in harmony with the natural world.　

-このトラックは、自然が遊びごごろ溢れ、心惹かれるものとして描写し、また、誰かが幻覚の作用の下で周囲とどのように交流しあうかをメタファーとして表現しています。それは木、草、鳥、水、風をとても生き生きと表情豊かに見せ、生命と美しさと魂を自然の元素から見つけます。それはゆっくりと始まり、最終的には自然界と調和し、踊り、歌い、グルーヴに乗っていきます。

"TRANSPORT SKIN"
Since around the age of 18 I have enjoyed listening to minimal techno on long journey’s; I find it perfect music to meditate to on long journeys. This track uses subtle recordings of places of transport, as well as some polished recordings from my modest modular set up, to create an atmosphere that is both intriguing sonically, and evocative of minimal techno productions. The underbelly of the track is a deep kick drum that drives the atmosphere, and can be interpreted as the rhythm of a train moving, or the rhythm of a bicycle tyre going round and round. It is similar to the type of music that I choose to travel to, whilst at the same time being an artefact of travel itself.

18歳の頃から、長い旅でミニマルテクノを聴くのを楽しんでいます。 ミニマルテクノは、長い旅で瞑想するのに最適な音楽だと考えています。
このトラックは、交通機関の録音と、私の音楽からの録音を使って、音響的に興味深く、最小限のテクノを感じる雰囲気を作り出しています。
線路の下は、雰囲気を全体を作り上げる深いキックドラムであり、列車が動くリズムや自転車のタイヤがぐるぐる回るリズムとしても解釈することができます。
この曲は、私が旅行する時に選ぶテクノの音楽に似ていますが、同時に旅行自体の美術的な真実でもあります。
